The Hound of the Baskervilles

Περιγραφή

The Hound of the Baskervilles, one of the most famous Sherlock Holmes novels, was penned by Arthur Conan Doyle in 1901 and published as a book in 1902. This story marked the return of Sherlock Holmes after his dramatic death in "The Final Problem," although it is set before that event. The immense popularity of The Hound of the Baskervilles played a significant role in paving the way for Holmes's return in subsequent stories. The novel draws inspiration from a local legend about a ghostly hound haunting Dartmoor in Devonshire, England. Set in the moors surrounding Baskerville Hall, the narrative unfolds mostly at night, with the chilling howls of the hound echoing through the darkness. In this eBook, Arthur Conan Doyle, for the first time, places a strong emphasis on the eerie setting and mysterious atmosphere, rather than solely focusing on the hero's deductive prowess. As one of the classic mysteries of all time, the novel was met with great enthusiasm by readers who celebrated the return of Sherlock Holmes.
